Taking its name from the Ethiopian bean, Geisha; this spot provides a warm welcome seven days a week with an extensive coffee menu. You have the option to pick your beans from what’s on as well as buy several bags of either their home blends or single origin beans. If that wasn’t enough the food is delectable with the beef brisket burger makes waves alongside the ever-changing daily specials.

Offshoot Coffee
Want to watch your coffee beans get roasted and treated? Well at Offshoot they’ve got their Loring S15 Falcon machine on display and working overtime with its unique roasting method. While the equipment might have been imported from America, the beans come from all corners with offerings from Kenya, El Salvador, and China all regularly available. Pop in when you’re in downtown Perth for an exceptionally good coffee.

Even if you’re not the biggest coffee drinker, you’ll more than appreciate La Veen’s storied architecture and appealing graphic design work. Owners and roasters, Justin and Irene had a coffee dream. That dream was realised when they opened up Pound Coffee Roastery down in the Fremantle area of Perth. Their process may seem methodical to hand roast each batch after a scrutinous selection process, but this is the price for excellent coffee.

Harvest Espresso
Upcycling an abandoned industrial space in Victoria Park, Harvest Espresso specialises in authentic Australian brunch with its own blend of coffee beans exclusive to Harvest. The aforementioned blend is made in collaboration with the Northbridge Coffee Roasters which have long been a staple of Perth’s fine coffee scene. Adding to the fine nature, you can follow up it with a banana loaf or the highly esteemed smoked salmon – both of which are the talk of the town when served up.

Up in the Northern area of Perth sits Engine Room Espresso. Underneath the dark exterior is a welcoming café known for friendly encounters and service. Some circles refer to Low Down as the best spot for Coffee in Perth. While it’s hard to be definitive, this shop in Cloisters Arcade is certainly in that discussion. The Hylin lends culture from New York City; yet still retains an intimate neighborhood vibe with plenty of flowing leafy plants giving a friendly earthy welcome. Standing Room Only
Energised by the folk of Piccadilly Arcade embodies the common Italian phrase said to hordes of international tourists by Rome’s baristas: “standing room only!” You get your coffee, enjoy it for what it is and leave. Of course, it has to have an Aussie slant, so the pink neon signage makes it unique – oh and not to mention the incredible Nitro Coffee offerings which can really refuel your cells every Monday to Friday. Ooh Coffee
Given the limited space, Ooh Coffee is almost exclusively takeout – but if you’re lucky enough to knab the bench outside you can watch the world go by from this petite North Fremantle café. The beans come in fast having worked with the likes of Community Coffee, Sample Coffee, and Five Senses before – it’s clear to see why it’s become a favourite among the Perth population.

A self-proclaimed ‘specialty coffee’ shop, Felix & Co. is serious about coffee and only good coffee. This tinky café makes up in for its diminutive shop size with an extensive coffee menu with more single-origin and seasonal blends coming through the doors than most Aussies have had hot dinners. The food offerings are perfect for those lazy Sundays with a plethora of toasties and sandwiches available.

Architects & Heroes
This narrow and slender café in Subiaco appreciates a minimal décor with simplistic line drawing murals on the walls. The menu is similar in design as it avoids pretense with eggs, muffins, and other pastry options. The coffee while not challenging is certainly rich in variance with blends often cycling in and out of availability.
