When deciding what to eat for breakfast does Israeli spring to mind? Well after one visit to Shuk Bondi we are sure it will.
A stalwart on Mitchell Street, this buzzy cafe presents a fabulous menu of Israeli and Mediterranean dishes that will satisfy your stomach as well as your soul.

Parida Bondi
When it comes to who makes the best avo smash in Bondi there is a lot of competition. However, Parida Bondi can easily stake a genuine claim to doing so.
A family-run business that prides itself on making all its meals from scratch using only the freshest produce available, its avocado and feta smash is a work of art.

Like the idea of eating somewhere that has a social conscience? Then the Heart Cafe is the perfect destination for you.
An admirable social enterprise cafe, all of the profits they make go to the Wayside Chapel’s Wingspan Project. Which is a charitable organisation that helps disadvantaged children.
If the quality of their food offering is anything to go by, then they should be donating plenty of funds to them, because their menu features lots of classics that come with a slight twist. Think chicken BLAT, dukkah scrambled eggs and fish tacos.
One of the best things about this cafe is that most of their dishes champion produce that is grown from Wayside Chapel’s community garden, which is located a short distance away.

Bills is arguably the most famous of all cafes in Sydney,
Run by Bill Granger, the man who invented ricotta hotcakes, this relaxed hangout is the perfect place for a laidback meal.

Side Room
Side Room is the place to go if you want quick, delicious and flavourful meals that showcase the best in Australian ingredients.
Boasting a great location in Bondi’s Pacific complex, as well as a terrific ambience, the venue provides a fabulous selection of meals that will nourish you from breakfast all the way through to dinner.
Their brekkie bowls fly out the door – mainly due to their thoughtful construction and delicious flavour profiles. While their beef brisket bowl – which is slow-cooked for more than eight hours – is a lunch and dinner favourite too.
Other dishes of note to try include their ziad bread, which features a delicious spiced chickpea spread and their hot smoked trout, which is absolutely delicious.

Harrys Bondi
Situated in North Bondi, just a stone’s throw from the famous beach, Harrys has grown from a hole-in-the-wall to a popular venue with an enchanting interior and lots of streetside seating.
Acting as a cross between a café, bar and ethical kiosk, they offer a good selection of meals in their all-day menu that range from favourites like fritters and hotcakes (which some champion as being better than Bills – Sshhhhhh don’t tell them!) to lobster omelette and juicy burgers.

Rocker
Of all the cafes you could choose to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner at in Bondi, few have quite the pedigree of Rocker.
Offering a fantastic food menu which was created by Darren Robertson (three blue ducks) and Stuart Toon (ex Jamie Oliver), the venue offers a selection of different menus.
This includes a breakfast menu, an all-day lunch and dinner menu, a Taco Tuesday menu, All you can eat mussels, a bottomless brunch and their famous Sunday road.
Always busy, this isn’t the place to come when you are hungry, as you often need to wait to be seated. But when you are, you will be treated to a feed that is nothing short of sensational.
As well as its food offering, Rocker is also known for its incredible Single O coffee and excellent cocktails. It also has a fabulous wine menu that features labels from plenty of up-and-coming local vintners, both in the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales and Australia as a whole.

A trendy cafe in North Bondi that also features a ceramics shop, the venue started as a collaboration between two friends.
It has since established itself as a great place to go for a casual breakfast, with dishes like hash browns with paprika hollandaise and green pea pancakes with eggs and avo being a great way to start your day.
Should you happen to come here at lunch you will also find plenty to satisfy, including steak sandwiches, burgers and a delicious range of salads.
